CTOnews.com, December 30 (Xinhua)-- BYD has officially announced that it has signed a joint venture agreement with UZAVTOSANOAT JSC ("UzAuto") to set up a joint venture company to focus on the production of new energy vehicles and related parts. The joint venture, which will be based in Uzbekistan, will mainly produce a number of BYD's best-selling new energy models, including DM-i super hybrid models and related parts.

BYD (Build Your Dreams) started the battery business in 1995, mastering the core technologies of electric vehicles such as batteries, motors and electric controls, and being able to provide integrated solutions for new energy, including electric vehicles and power batteries. CTOnews.com learned that BYD sold more than 3 million new energy vehicles worldwide as of November 2022.

Founded in 1994, UzAuto is the largest and only automobile manufacturer with a complete layout of the automobile industry in Central Asia, with a large local and inter-regional sales network and a perfect after-sales service system. UzAuto won 95 per cent of the car market in Uzbekistan.
