CTOnews.com, December 30, according to the DIGITIMES research report, supply chain operators believe that compared with the troubles in the Android mobile phone camp, Apple's delivery pace in 2022 is "much better", but it is estimated that the cost of advanced semiconductor technology will continue to rise in 2023, and supply chain costs will be psychologically prepared to be squeezed.

Looking back on the whole year of 2022, the smartphone market ushered in a high degree of uncertainty, and the Android camp was hit by the headwind, and big companies such as Samsung Electronics, Xiaomi and OPPO were almost unable to meet their expected sales targets, only Apple's iPhone 14 series stood firm against the trend and met the existing steady progress in terms of sales volume and component delivery.

However, the disruption at Foxconn's main iPhone plant at the end of the year affected production of the iPhone 14 series. IC channel operators said that the assembly section had been affected and that some iPhone 14 series demand was expected to be postponed to Q1 in 2023.

IC channel operators, who represent Apple's bulk RF communication chips, said that according to the demand for spare components, there will be a slight decrease in the iPhone 14 series in 2022 compared with 2021, but on the whole, in terms of order visibility and delivery rhythm, they are better than the highly unknown Android camp.

CTOnews.com has learned that Foxconn's production iPhone unit at its Zhengzhou plant is already recovering and currently has a capacity of about 70 per cent, according to analysts and supply chain insiders. At the same time, Foxconn is still trying to restore the rest of its capacity.
