Taiwan's Economic Daily said that TSMC has aggressively expanded its plant at the Nanke plant and rushed to advanced processes, but because the water situation is often tight, the director of TSMC privately revealed on the 29th that "there is indeed a worry about water shortage next year." to this end, TSMC made plans in advance to carry out diversified preparations to strengthen water supply, such as reclaimed water.

According to TSMC statistics, the Nanke plant reduced its water supply by 15% last year when the water shortage was at its worst, and the target for the second quarter of next year is that the recycled water plant is expected to supply 20% of the water consumption of the Nanke plant.

CTOnews.com has reported that the TSMC Nanke Recycling Water Plant was officially opened in September this year, which is the first private reclaimed water plant in Taiwan Province, and represents the first time in the world to use industrial recycled water in semiconductor production. According to reports, the replacement rate of recycled water in Taiwan is expected to reach the target of 60% by 2030.
