CTOnews.com, December 30, according to foreign science and technology media MIXED reports, the United States Army plans to officially use the HoloLens 2-based Integrated Audio Visual System (IVAS) in 2023. A few months ago, there were reports that there were a lot of problems in the testing of the IVAS headset, which would be good news for Microsoft if the news was true.

CTOnews.com learned that under the 10-year agreement signed between Microsoft and the United States Army, Microsoft will receive a huge return of $21.9 billion if the project is successful. However, after the signing of the agreement, the progress of the IVAS project is not smooth, and various problems have been reported many times.

Douglas Bush, the assistant secretary in charge of procurement, publicly expressed his optimism about the IVAS project in September, saying that Microsoft had begun to deliver the first batch of IVAS battle heads. He said at the time that the test results were good and firmly believed that the project would be a success.

However, Bloomberg published an in-depth commentary in October, saying that IVAS had a serious negative impact on soldiers. 80% of the soldiers developed "mission-affecting physical injuries" (including headaches, eye fatigue and nausea) after wearing them for three hours. Another report disclosed by Business Insider pointed out that IVAS affected the performance of soldiers on the battlefield. It was reported at the time that Microsoft solved the problem, but IVAS still failed the entire six evaluation procedures.
