CTOnews.com December 29 news, Strategy Analytics released a report today that 5G is the main contributor to the performance improvement of operators this year. The number of 5G users increased from 819 million in June to 924 million in September and exceeded 1 billion in the past 4-5 weeks. The global 5G development momentum continues to increase.

The report points out that by the end of this month, 5G networks will cover 36% of the world's population, and 5G mobile phones will account for half of global mobile phone sales.

CTOnews.com learned that Strategy Analytics expects the global 5G to continue to develop strongly in 2023. With India's 5G service launched last month, the market will make an additional contribution to growth in the Asia-Pacific region next year, while more operators in Latin America will follow Brazil and Chile in expanding the range of 5G services.

According to reports, this year will be an exciting year for 5G because of the basis of strong user growth, coupled with the wider deployment of 5G independent services, and these new advanced network service opportunities for operators to provide vertical solutions and more advanced consumer applications.

Data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that by the end of November, the total number of mobile phone users in China's three basic telecommunications enterprises reached 1.684 billion. Among them, 5G mobile phone users reached 542 million, accounting for 32.2% of mobile phone users.
