According to the official news of Oriental Space, in order to ensure the success of the first flight, Oriental Space has carried out tests related to maritime wireless communication equipment in the Eastern Space Port to verify key technologies such as reliability of sea-launched wireless communication.

Different from the control and monitoring signals of rockets in land launch, which can be transmitted by wired communication system, sea launch can only be transmitted by wireless communication equipment, and it has to face the problems of sea level multipath effect, long transmission distance and complex space interference environment. Therefore, mastering stable and reliable maritime wireless communication technology is indispensable for the smooth launch of maritime launches.

According to reports, the maritime wireless communication test verified the adaptability and coordination of wireless communication devices, monitoring video wireless transmission equipment, voice system networking, etc. in the maritime environment. In the test, the control link, measurement link, video link and voice link are verified by using wireless dual redundancy technology in short, medium and long distance. The performance indexes of directional antenna and omnidirectional antenna are tested. The test results meet the design requirements.

In addition, Dongfang Space will build a rocket assembly integration test center (AIT Center) at Dongfang Space Port, covering an area of nearly 100 mu. After reaching production capacity, it can achieve an annual output of 20 launch vehicles. Facing the first flight mission at sea in 2023, Oriental Space has completed the design of the launch ship transformation scheme and started to implement it.
