CTOnews.com, December 28 (Xinhua) according to the release of China Railway, the Zhongwei-Lanzhou section of the Yinchuan-Lanzhou high-speed railway will be completed and opened on December 29. At this point, the Yinchuan-Lanzhou high-speed railway will be fully operational, which can be reached from Yinchuan to Lanzhou in 2 hours and 56 minutes at the earliest.

The Yinlan high-speed railway, which connects Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous region, and Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu Province, is 431 kilometers long and is built in two stages, of which the section from Yinchuan to Zhongwei was opened for operation on December 29, 2019. CTOnews.com has learned that the section from Zhongwei to Lanzhou starts from Zhongwei South Station, via Zhongwei City of Ningxia Hui Autonomous region, Baiyin City and Lanzhou City of Gansu Province, and connects to Lanzhou West Station of Lanxin High-speed Railway. The line is 219km long and has a design speed of 250km per hour. There are 7 stations in Zhongwei South, Beitan, West Pingchuan, Jingbei, Baiyin South, Qinwangchuan and Lanzhou West stations, of which Zhongwei South and Lanzhou West Station are existing stations. The others are new stations.

At the initial stage of operation, the railway department will arrange the operation of passenger trains from Yinchuan to Lanzhou according to the daily line, weekend line and peak line, with a maximum of 15 pairs of trains every day, including 4 pairs from Lanzhou to Yinchuan and 1 pair from Lanzhou to Zhongwei. Lanzhou to Yinchuan and Zhongwei can reach as soon as 2 hours, 56 minutes and 1 hour 42 minutes respectively, which is reduced by 5 hours, 26 minutes and 4 hours 04 minutes respectively.

Yinlan high-speed railway is an important part of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network from Beijing to Lanzhou. It runs through the whole line, further improves the road network structure of Gansu, Ningxia and other western regions of China, facilitates the travel of people of all ethnic groups along the line, and is of great significance in promoting coordinated regional development and promoting rural revitalization.
