According to the report, the number of knowledge works released on Douyin increased by 35.4%, and the number of live streaming shows in colleges and universities increased by 46% to 21103. According to the report, from January to October 2022, the number of Douyin knowledge works posted increased by 35.4 percent, of which the number of picture and text knowledge content posted increased by 167 percent. In addition, the number of live broadcasts by knowledge creators increased by 72.7% per month.

In October 2022, the number of Douyin users who liked knowledge content five times or more reached 250 million, an increase of 44.1% over the beginning of 2021. In terms of the number of users mentioned above, Chongqing was the favorite learning city of Douyin in 2022, with Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu ranking 2nd to 5th respectively. In TOP10 cities, Shanghai users prefer medical and health knowledge content, Shenzhen users prefer finance and economics, science and technology, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou and Xi'an prefer science popularization, campus education, humanities and social sciences respectively.

From January to October this year, Douyin users searched more than 16 billion knowledge-related questions, with an average of 27 knowledge points per user. At the same time, knowledge videos and picture and text content were shared 12.6 billion times, with an average of 20 pieces of knowledge content shared with relatives and friends.

From January to November in 2022, there were 21103 live broadcasts from Douyin colleges and universities, an increase of 46 percent over the whole of 2021. 95 million Douyin users watch live streaming from colleges and universities, and one in 14 Chinese listen to college open courses on Douyin. In 2022, 45 academicians and 4 Nobel laureates shared scientific theories and research achievements on Douyin. There are nearly 400 certified professors on Douyin.

CTOnews.com learned that "the Construction and Development of Beidou system" by Xu Ying of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, "how does surplus pleasure dominate us" by Professor Zhou Zhiqiang of Nankai University, and "Ancient Chinese Politics and Culture (part 1)" by Professor Yan Buke of Peking University is the most collected open course in 2022.

As of October 2022, the number of Douyin ten thousand fan knowledge creators exceeded 500000, an increase of 69.6% over the same period last year. Life knowledge, humanities knowledge and popular science knowledge are the fastest growing content areas in the number of Wanfan creators.

The report shows that four masterpieces occupy the top four among the top 10 most popular books by Douyin users, of which Journey to the West is the most popular. Contemporary literary works such as "Bai Lu Yuan", "living" and "three-body" are also selected.
