CTOnews.com December 28 news, China Information and Communications Institute today released a report that in the third quarter of 2022, 5G mobile phone products in China's mobile phone market continued to show a steady development trend; the number of 4G mobile phone models dropped slightly, the frequency characteristics of 4G mobile phones changed little, and the transmission capacity level of 4G mobile phone products showed low-speed development; mobile phones with Android version 13 operating system are emerging in the market.

According to the report, there are 126 mobile phone products applied for network testing in the third quarter of 2022, of which 60 are 5G phones, accounting for 47.6% of the total. Among them, 57 are 4G phones, accounting for 45.2% of the total. Ting 2G mobile phones account for 7.1% of 3G mobile phones.

In terms of the frequency band characteristics of 5G mobile phones, of the 60 5G mobile phones applied for network testing in the third quarter of 2022, 100% supported N41, 98.3% supported n78, 26.7% supported n79, 90.0% supported n28, and 91.7% supported N1.

According to CTOnews.com, smartphones accounted for 85.5 per cent of 4G and 5G handsets that applied for online testing in the third quarter of 2022, according to CICT. Among all smartphones, the Android operating system still accounts for the highest proportion, accounting for 91.0%, of which the Android version 13 operating system first appeared in the market, accounting for 18.7%.
