CTOnews.com Rumors about the Nintendo Switch Pro have been around for a long time, although there is no concrete evidence to prove its existence, according to the Digital Foundry Direct Weekly podcast, they quoted several developers as saying that Nintendo considered the Switch Pro, but was eventually cancelled.

John Linneman, editor of The Media, said: "From my conversations with different developers, there was some sort of mid-term Switch update planned, but it doesn't seem to happen anymore. So it's clear that whatever they do next will be true next-generation hardware. I don't think it's going to be 2023. "

Linneman speculates that part of the reason the Switch Pro was canceled was because Nintendo was worried about another Gamecube or Wii U scenario, both of which sold poorly.
