CTOnews.com, December 28 (Xinhua) according to the Wall Street Journal, 79% of American technology workers can successfully find a new job within three months after they are laid off. The data comes from a survey conducted by ZipRecruiter, which found that nearly 4/5 of people can continue to find new jobs.

CTOnews.com learned that data show that nearly 40 per cent of science and technology workers can find a new job within a month; nearly 40 per cent of technology workers can find a new job within 1-3 months; in addition, about 15 per cent of technology workers take 3-6 months to find a new job, while 5 per cent of science and technology workers may take more than 6 months.

The data also show that 74% of tech workers find new jobs in the technology industry, while the other 26% decide to switch industries and find jobs in retail, financial services and health care. The ZipRecruiter survey surveyed 2550 American residents who started a new job in the six months to mid-October.
