CTOnews.com, December 28 (Xinhua)-- AV-TEST, an anti-malware solution evaluation company, released a 2022 malware sample, which shows that a total of 98084563 malware samples have been detected this year. The number of malicious samples against Windows, macOS, Linux and Android is 69504686, 12445, 1917133 and 1073866 respectively.

In terms of quantity, the amount of malware aimed at Windows is more than 5000 times that for macOS platform, 60 times for Linux platform, and 65 times for Android platform.

CTOnews.com learned that although the number of malware targeted at Windows is the largest, the growth rate has declined steadily since September this year. The following figure shows the overall monthly malware and potentially harmful programs (PUA) on the left, and the month-on-month growth rate on the right.
