The landing of China Eastern Airlines' first C919 domestic large aircraft in Chengdu represents that its 100-hour verification flight plan is being carried out efficiently, which is a step closer to putting domestic large aircraft into commercial passenger transportation. According to reports, China Eastern Airlines will strive to put the C919 into commercial passenger operation in the spring of 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that yesterday (December 26) afternoon, the first verification plane with flight number MU7801 arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, opening a total of 100 hours of verification flight, comprehensively testing the reliability of China Eastern Airlines systems to meet and prepare for C919 commercial operation, and laying a solid foundation for subsequent smooth investment in commercial passenger flight.

The main purpose of the verification flight is to verify the airline's ability to operate the C919 aircraft safely, including the applicability and maneuverability of the policies, standards, regulations and procedures formulated by China Eastern Airlines in the early stage. At the same time, verify the guarantee capability of each professional system of the airline, and whether all kinds of professionals have the ability to operate C919 safely, so as to ensure that the aviation department after the domestic large aircraft enters the commercial operation. It can provide a good flight experience for the majority of passengers and make the commercial flights of C919 safer and more efficient.

The 100-hour verification flight will last until mid-February 2023, with 9 provinces and cities and 10 airports taking off and landing. On each flight verification day, the C919 will take off from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to the Beijing capital, Beijing Daxing, Chengdu Tianfu, Xi'an, Haikou, Qingdao, Wuhan, Nanchang, Jinan and other destinations, and return to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport on the same day. Verification flight needs to simulate the operation process of the whole flight, including signing and releasing, passenger boarding, pilot operation, aircraft maintenance and so on.

After the C919 completes the route verification flight, the Civil Aviation Administration of China will examine and inspect the verification results and issue the corresponding operation license after confirming that China Eastern Airlines has the ability to operate the C919 aircraft safely.

China Eastern Airlines strives to put the C919 into commercial passenger operation in the spring of 2023. At that time, C919 will appear on high-quality boutique routes in Shanghai, Beijing, Xi'an, Kunming, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen and other places.
