CTOnews.com, December 27, China Satcom revealed in an interview that China Star 6e satellite is currently in the testing phase of the final assembly of the whole satellite and is scheduled to be launched next year.

According to reports, China Star 6e satellite transponder resources have built Ku and Ka high-throughput resources with digital processing capabilities on the basis of meeting the needs of C-band radio and television transmission services and comprehensively considering the carrying capacity of satellite platforms and frequency band resources.

Zhongxing 6e satellite is designed to replace China Star 6B satellite with a design life of 14.2 years. It uses East 4 enhanced platform and carries C and Ku band loads. It is reported that the China Star 6e satellite is scheduled to be launched next year.

CTOnews.com learned that China Star 6B satellite was launched in July 2007 and put into use in August 2007. It was once an important signal source of cable television in China, and it was also the main way to watch TV in some areas (according to the provisions of order 129,individuals are not allowed to install satellite ground receiving facilities), which has a glorious history.

For China's remote and rural areas, people may often see a "cauldron" on the roof before the live satellite is launched, and the main purpose of that "cauldron" is to receive Zhongxing 6B satellite signals.

In addition, China Satcom is expected to launch a China Satellite 9C satellite to replace China Star 9 in 2025. Zhongxing 9 was launched on June 9, 2008 with a design life of 15 years. It has been in operation for 14 years and is in good condition. We will promote the development of China Satellite 9 to replace China Satellite 9C and increase the number of Ka transponders to meet the business needs of directional coverage and two-way integration in the future.
