On December 27, Elon Musk's leadership style has been criticized since the acquisition of Twitter. According to the latest revelations in the US media, Musk's shelf is so large that visitors to Twitter headquarters in San Francisco often have to wait more than an hour to see him and cannot speak first.

Visitors must wait in the area next to Musk's 10th floor conference room and be instructed not to speak until Musk speaks, according to the Washington Post. Sometimes, he even continues to watch YouTube videos during meetings.

Many of Mr Musk's moves have been in the spotlight since he took over Twitter two months ago. As soon as he joined Twitter, he fired a large number of the company's senior executives and then laid off thousands of employees. Musk also canceled many employee benefits, used Twitter polls to make key decisions, and then quickly overturned them after launching new policies several times.

Musk, who is also known for his wayward way of working, is said to have slept in a factory when Tesla's car production was increasing. Since taking over Twitter, Musk claims to have been sleeping in the company's office. Other employees also seem to work overtime and stay up late.

A person close to Mr Musk said Mr Musk had been finding, solving and programming problems all night. Musk had previously told employees that Twitter 2.0 would be "extremely hard-core" and would be required to work "long hours and high intensity".

Musk obviously attaches great importance to face-to-face communication. He abolished Twitter's telecommuting policy, telling employees that they need to go back to the office or resign unless they have clear immunity.

A lawyer representing former employees said in a lawsuit that the return-to-office policy violated promises made by Twitter executives and managers that employees would be able to telecommute for at least a year after Mr Musk acquired the company.

Former employees who filed the lawsuit argued that Twitter's new policy meant discrimination against telecommuting. The disabled former employee said no one told him how to apply for exemption, but he sent a message to the manager that he would "certainly not be able" to return to the office for some time because he faced an "additional risk" of infecting COVID-19.

A few days later, Twitter sent him an email saying he would be fired because his actions were "in violation of company policy," the lawsuit said.
