According to the cooperation agreement, the Atomic Energy Institute will provide Tai'an Central Hospital with a set of BNCT cancer treatment equipment based on intense cyclotrons, and the two sides will jointly promote the landing of the first domestic cyclotron BNCT demonstration project. The project is located in the High-tech Hospital Zone of Taian Central Hospital in Shandong Province. The BNCT treatment Center is expected to complete the construction of the plant in June 2024 and have operational conditions in June 2026.

The BNCT cancer treatment equipment based on high current cyclotron developed by Atomic Energy Institute has the advantages of high current, low cost, small footprint, high integration, simple operation and maintenance, and multi-use of one machine. it can be used not only in cancer treatment, but also in the production of radioisotope drugs. It is an ideal choice for neutron source of small accelerators in the future.
