Not only have sales declined, but giants such as Apple and Samsung have also begun to cut production, reduce market risk and accelerate inventory removal.

MIC estimates that global mobile phone shipments are only 1.26 billion units this year due to slowing economic growth, inflation and the epidemic, down 6.8% from the same period last year; next year, global mobile phone shipments are about 1.327 billion units, up 5.2% from the same period last year.

Among them, the decline of the Android mobile phone camp is the most obvious this year, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo and other three major domestic brands are in sharp decline, a year-on-year decline of nearly 20%. Apple is the only one of the top six mobile phone brands to have a chance of positive growth this year, but final shipments may not be as good as expected due to capacity constraints in the fourth quarter.

Samsung is also affected by major environmental factors. Recently, it is reported that the production capacity of the Vietnamese assembly plant, the largest production stronghold, has been slashed again. At present, the proportion of Vietnamese factories in Samsung's total smartphone shipments has dropped to 50%, and may drop to 40% next year, which means that Samsung is actively implementing a production reduction strategy in order to speed up the elimination of inventory.

People in the industry believe that as far as the technology industry is concerned, smartphones are the first industry to fall into trough in this cold wind of the market, and the pace of destocking is also started earlier, and the time for market recovery will be relatively quick. at present, the supply chain believes that there will be an opportunity to return to past levels as soon as the second quarter of next year.

Taiwan media pointed out that at present, the top seven brands of smartphones shipped in the world are Samsung, Apple, OPPO, Xiaomi, vivo, Voice, and Glory. These manufacturers account for more than 80% of global mobile phone shipments, of which most of the new phones in the Android camp are in the first half of the year, while Apple is in the second half of the year.
