Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, December 24 (Xinhua)-- users can already run macOS on non-Mac devices through the Hackintosh tool. However, due to various restrictions, not many people have been able to run iOS systems on PC. Now a developer uses QEMU to successfully simulate and run the initial version of iPhone OS on a computer.
Developer Martijn de Vos (devos50) spent more than a year reverse engineering to simulate the original iPhone OS released by Apple for iPod touch in 2007. He says it takes a lot of effort to simulate multi-touch support and other hardware components.
Devos50 said in his blog post that the trickiest part of the project is simulating the hardware components of iPod touch. Instead of choosing iPhone OS for iPhone, developers choose iPod touch because the original iPhone needs to simulate more components.
Another reason for choosing to emulate iPhone OS 1.0 is that this version has far fewer security mechanisms than subsequent versions. "Modern Apple devices contain many additional hardware components, such as neural engines, security compartments and various sensors, which will make it more difficult and time-consuming to simulate such devices," the developer explained.
Another interesting aspect of the project is that the key to successful simulation is OpeniBoot, an open source implementation of Apple's bootstrap program. Although the project stopped development a long time ago, it allows users to install Android on the original iPhone and iPod touch.

CTOnews.com learned that iPhone OS 1. 0 is Apple Inc. The first major version of the developed iOS mobile operating system was initially released without an official name, and Apple's marketing literature simply mentions it.
IPhone OS 1 introduced the original iPhone in a keynote speech by Steve Jobs (Steve Jobs) at Macworld Conference&Expo on January 9, 2007. At the time, Jobs only said that iPhone ran "OS X." IPhone OS 1.0 was released with iPhone on June 29, 2007.
With the release of the iPhone Software Development Kit (iPhone SDK) on March 6, 2008, Apple named it iPhone OS (later renamed "iOS" on June 7, 2010).
