The world's first C919 aircraft received by China Eastern Airlines will have a 100-hour verification flight from December 26, according to the China Civil Aviation Network.

After the C919 completes the route verification flight, the bureau will examine and check the verification results and confirm that China Eastern Airlines has the ability to operate the C919 aircraft safely, and will issue the corresponding operation license. It is reported that China Eastern Airlines will strive to put the C919 into commercial passenger operation in the spring of 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that the verification flight will comprehensively test whether the preparations made by China Eastern Airlines systems for the commercial operation of the C919 are reliable and whether they can provide passengers with safe and comfortable flights of large domestic aircraft, so as to complete the final sprint for the upcoming commercial operation.

China Eastern Airlines plans to complete the C919 verification flight in the first quarter of 2023. At present, China Eastern Airlines has prepared 5 pilots, 24 flight attendants and more than 30 engineers, enough to meet the initial verification flight requirements. In addition, in order to verify the safe operation capability of the C919 in a large range and high frequency, China Eastern Airlines has also selected several typical airports as verification flight sites, including Beijing Capital, Beijing Daxing, Haikou, Nanchang and so on.
