CTOnews.com December 23 news, According to CCTV news report, Guangzhou-Zhanjiang high-speed railway Zhanjiang Bay submarine tunnel "Yongxing" Shield machine successfully crossed 2500 meters Zhanjiang Bay sea area section on December 21, Into Zhanjiang Main City, Marking Guangzhou-Zhanjiang high-speed railway construction made new progress.

CTOnews.com learned that the whole line of Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway was started on June 30,2020. The main line was led from Guangzhou Station, passing Foshan, Zhaoqing, Yunfu, Yangjiang and Maoming, and finally to Zhanjiang City. 401 kilometers of new double-track lines were built, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

Zhanjiang Bay Submarine Tunnel with a total length of 9640 meters is designed as a single-hole double-track tunnel, which is the only tunnel adopting shield construction method along the whole line. Among them, the 7551-meter shield section is completed by a shield machine with an excavation diameter of 14.33 meters. It is the large-diameter sea-crossing high-speed railway shield tunnel with the longest single-head excavation distance in China at present.

The tunnel sea area section is 2500 meters long, the maximum buried depth is 31 meters, the excavation section is large, the whole section passes through silty clay, and the cutter head is easy to form mud cake. Up to now, the "Yongxing" shield machine has safely excavated 3856 meters, more than half of the whole excavation, and will soon be transferred from "sea crossing" to "city crossing" mode.
