CTOnews.com, December 23 (Xinhua)-- Netflix launched a basic advertising subscription in 12 countries last month for $6.99 a month with a maximum resolution limit of 720p. In order to further promote this basic advertising subscription, Netflix has hidden the basic ad-free subscription in some countries and regions in order to make more people use the basic advertising subscription.

When some users try to subscribe to Netflix, their subscription page no longer shows the basic ad-free subscription, only showing three options: Basic with ads, Standard and Premium. But in fact, users can still choose the Basic Ad-free subscription option, but Netflix hides it in the small print section in the lower left corner.

CTOnews.com learned that Netflix currently has four options, including basic Advertising subscription (Basic with ads), basic Advertising-Free subscription (Basic Ad-free), Standard Edition (Standard) and Premium (Premium). The monthly fee for the basic advertising subscription is $6.99, the basic ad-free subscription is $9.99, the standard subscription is $15.49, and the premium subscription is $19.99.
