According to CTOnews.com news on December 22, Tesla confirmed that it will allow third-party charging piles to enter its navigation system, but these charging piles need to meet the high standards of the carmaker.

In most cases, this is not a big problem, because Tesla's network of supercharging stations is relatively large and is considered to be the best charging network.

But third-party charging stations have improved recently and the number has increased significantly, especially in Europe, where Tesla uses CCS connectors like all other charging networks.

Now, Tesla has announced that it will allow third-party charging posts to be used in its navigation system, provided that the conditions are met.

Third-party fast charging piles that meet our performance and reliability standards will be automatically added to Tesla's navigation system as qualified third-party charging piles. The purpose of this is to ensure that Tesla drivers have a smooth charging experience. The following standards will first be launched in Europe and Israel.

The carmaker says charging piles need to meet these three standards within 60 days before they can be added:

At least one compatible charging connector

Often used by Tesla drivers, at least once every four days

The average charging success rate is 90% or higher.

CTOnews.com learned that if one of the following problems occurs within 14 days, it will be automatically removed from the navigation:

No charging period was detected

The average success rate of charging has dropped below 70%.

As Tesla pointed out, the new "qualified third-party charging pile" program will start in Europe and Israel, where it will have a more important impact, as Tesla cars are already equipped with an CCS connector like most third-party charging stations.

The same plan may be implemented in North America, but Tesla may give priority to charging network operators using its charging connector, which Tesla recently tried to make as a new standard in North America.
