CTOnews.com, December 21, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, recently, the "Tianqin-1" technical test satellite has been accepted by the National Space Administration and rated as "excellent."

The satellite, jointly developed by the Fifth Academy of Aerospace Dongfanghong Satellite Co., Ltd., Sun Yat-sen University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group, was launched into orbit on December 20, 2019 on a long March 4B carrier rocket, completed its scientific mission beyond expectations, and independently measured global gravity field data for the first time.

At present, the "Tianqin II" technical test satellite project is progressing smoothly and is expected to be ready for launch in early 2026.

CTOnews.com learned that Tianqin-1, a satellite led by Luo Jun's team at Sun Yat-sen University, is the first technology test satellite of the Tianqin project. The satellite will carry out on-orbit verification of core technologies such as high-precision space inertial sensors, non-towing control technology, micro-Newtonian propulsion technology, laser interferometer and so on. On December 20, 2019, the long March 4B carrier rocket was successfully launched from Taiyuan Satellite launch Center.

▲ Tianqin-1 concept map at the beginning of this year, the "Tianqin-1" satellite obtained global gravity field data, which is the first time that China has used domestic autonomous satellites to measure this data, making China the third country in the world with the ability to independently detect the global gravity field after the United States and Germany.
