CTOnews.com, Dec. 21 (Xinhua)-- Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and co-chairman of the world's largest private charity, said Twitter's intuitive decision-making style has been exacerbating digital polarization since Elon Musk took over.

Gates told the Financial Times that Twitter's chaos was not caused by objective decisions made by a wide range of groups, but by a series of empirical and intuitive decision-making activities.

Twitter has been in turmoil since Mr Musk bought it for $44 billion in October. Advertisers left the social media platform because of concerns about a new content censorship strategy, and Musk blocked the accounts of several journalists, prompting criticism.

Gates also pointed out in an interview with the Financial Times that social media platforms "need to focus on things that incite riots or cause great misunderstandings about vaccines and masks."

CTOnews.com learned that the entanglement between Gates and Musk has been going on for a long time, ranging from their attitude towards COVID-19 's epidemic to Musk questioning Gates'"shorting" Tesla stock. On Musk's acquisition of Twitter, Gates expressed opposition in public interviews many times. He believed that running social media was not Musk's strong point. Before Musk bought Twitter, Gates also donated hundreds of millions of dollars to a number of organizations through the foundation. These organizations signed a letter to Twitter advertisers asking them to restore freedom of expression on the platform once Musk made changes to content censorship. We have to boycott the platform.
