CTOnews.com, December 21, according to CCTV news, the world's first 3200-ton Jack-up wind power installation ship was delivered and set sail at the Cosco Marine Terminal in Qidong, Jiangsu Province on December 20. This is also the world's first fourth-generation Jack-up wind power installation ship.

The data show that the wind power installation ship has a captain of 181m, a width of 60m, a mold depth of 14.6m, a pile leg height of 131.94 m, and a main lifting capacity of 3200 tons. Four pile legs are designed for the installation of 18-20 MW offshore wind turbines with DP2 dynamic positioning system. The project deck payload is about 14000 tons, the living area can accommodate 110 people, the pile leg height is 130m, and the operation can be carried out in the water depth below 80m.

In addition, the wind power installation ship has the advantages of strong lifting capacity, good maneuverability, large space capacity, low energy consumption and low emissions. It can not only install wind turbines, but also be used in oil and gas related industries.

CTOnews.com learned that after the project set sail to Dubai for the installation of wind turbine components, it will go to the Dogger Bank wind farm in the North Sea of the United Kingdom for three phases of wind turbine installation, each phase of 1.2GW. The wind farm is expected to be put into operation in 2026 and will generate 18 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity a year, accounting for 5 per cent of UK electricity demand.
