Sometimes the data is jumbled, and the tables need to be streamlined and beautified, as well as extra rows to be deleted.

So, in the small operation of deleting rows, are there some skills worth learning?

The common method to delete a row is to delete the whole line. There are three main ways to delete a line. Come and see if there is any one you often use.

The first kind of ▋: right-click the selected target row, right-click at the line number (or you can right-click the target row directly) pop-up menu, and then select "Delete".

▋ the second: the toolbar option to delete the selected target row or any cell in the target row, click "Delete"-"Delete worksheet row" under the "start" tab, and then you can delete it.

Customize the Quick Delete preparation:

❷ in the expansion menu bar, right-click [Delete sheet rows].

❸ then click add to Quick access Toolbar.

The newly added feature option will appear in the Quick access toolbar.

Actual use:

When you need to delete a row, select the row or any cell in the row, and click this option in the Quick access toolbar to delete it quickly.

Is this method more convenient than the above?

Just select the cells in the target row and delete them at one point!

By extension, if you want to delete columns quickly, you can also use the same steps to add the Delete worksheet columns option to the Quick access toolbar.

Note: learn the above tips for quickly deleting rows, don't be complacent, and pay attention to a trap, which is the merge cells in Excel.

Why would you say that?

The content of the merged cell is actually located in the upper left corner of the first cell, if the row to be deleted happens to be the row of the merged cell, then the content here will also be deleted, and Excel will not give the relevant hints.

As shown in the following figure:

The top-left cell of the merged cell is A1, and the row to be deleted is the first row.

Delete the line, and the contents of the merged cell are deleted as well.

Therefore, remember to check if there is a similar situation before deleting the row. If so, you can cancel the merge, retain the content, and then delete the lines as needed.

By the same token, if you delete a column, you need to pay attention to whether the upper-left corner of the merged cell is in this column.
