Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Brother Black fly's left hand clue delivery! CTOnews.com, December 18, according to the official account of the China Geological Survey, on December 18, the Ocean drilling ship, the first ultra-deep water scientific research ship designed and built by China to drill 10,000 meters in the deep sea, completed its main hull in Nansha District of Guangzhou City, marking a key step in the construction of major equipment in China's deep sea exploration field.

According to reports, the ocean drilling ship belongs to the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources, with a designed displacement of 42000 tons, and has the ability to operate in an unlimited navigation area in the global sea area and a drilling capacity of more than 10000 meters in the sea area. It is the first ultra-deep water scientific research drilling ship in China. It is designed by the Seventh ○ 8 Research Institute of China Shipping Group and built by China Shipping Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

The drilling ship plans to be equipped with 10 categories of advanced shipborne equipment to form nine laboratories covering the whole field of marine research, and for the first time to build an international first-class standard paleomagnetism and super-clean laboratory, with the overall equipment and comprehensive operation capability at the international leading level.

The construction of the ocean drilling ship began on November 30, 2021, and it took one year to complete the manufacture, carrying and connection of the main hull structure. The follow-up work will be carried out in the construction area, installation and commissioning of equipment, wharf test and other work, which is expected to be fully completed in 2024.

CTOnews.com learned that on the same day, the "Marine Geology No. 2" multi-functional new research ship slowly arrived at the research wharf of the Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey of the China Geological Survey, marking China's first deepwater scientific research wharf and the largest special scientific research wharf in China, and the support capability of China's deep-sea exploration base was further improved.

According to reports, the wharf is located in the northeast corner of Longxue Island, Nansha District, Guangzhou City, covers an area of about 300mu, wharf coastline 1000 meters, there are five research ship berths, a total length of 700m, land supporting area of about 12000 square meters. The wharf is connected to the main channel of Guangzhou Port through a branch channel, and has the functions of ship berthing, navigation preparation and replenishment, command and dispatching, maintenance and maintenance, which meets the global water and electricity consumption standards for scientific research ships, and has the ability of flood control once in 200 years. It is an important supporting facility for China to carry out ocean scientific research cooperation and deep-sea scientific and technological innovation.

Marine Geology No. 2 has a total length of 85 meters, a width of 22 meters, a depth of 8 meters, a displacement of 7224 tons, a speed of 12.5 knots, a capacity of 150 passengers, a self-supporting capacity of 35 days, an endurance of 12000 nautical miles, and a DP-2 dynamic positioning system. Equipped with 150 tons of active deep compensation marine crane, A frame, 10,000 meters optical fiber winch and geological winch, marine hydrological environment measurement and other investigation equipment.

Marine Geology No. 2 was originally an underwater support and maintenance ship, but after transformation and upgrading, it has become a multi-functional support ship with the ability to accompany ocean drilling ships to carry out global navigation operations.
