What about the base station? Today's base stations are mostly distributed base stations, composed of BBU, RRU and antenna feed systems (commonly known as antennas). BBU is generally installed in indoor computer rooms or outdoor cabinets, and there is no need for waterproof. The RRU and the antenna itself are waterproof, and there is no problem with weathering in general. And the interface between BBU and RRU, one end of the interface is in the room, the other end of the interface is in the RRU maintenance window, also can not be caught in the rain.

So what needs to be waterproof every day is the interface between the RRU and the antenna. That is, the ANT interface of RRU and the ANT interface of antenna.

So how are these interfaces waterproof? Let's introduce it in detail.

ANT interface waterproof scheme ANT interface is the largest number of interfaces on RRU, and its function is to connect with the antenna. at present, there are two mainstream waterproof schemes.

Cold shrinkage pipe waterproof scheme cold shrinkage casing is actually an elastic pipe. When the plastic spiral strip supported inside the pipe is pulled out, the pipe shrinks by elastic retraction force, which is firmly wrapped on the outside of the cable interface and tightly sealed, which can play the role of waterproof, moistureproof and dustproof.

The ANT interface of RRU uses cold shrink casing for waterproof treatment as follows.

1. Put the cold shrink sleeve on the cable to be installed, and then install the cable connector to the ANT interface of RRU.

2. At a distance of about 130mm from the root of the RRU (that is, about the length of a cold shrink casing), evenly overlap winding 3 coils of waterproof insulating tape to expand the wire diameter.

3. Push the cold shrink casing to the root of the RRU, draw down the core rope of the cold shrink casing spirally around the cable, and push the cold shrink casing to the root of the RRU while pulling the core rope, until the cold shrink casing is firmly contracted and tightened near the root of the connector, and the waterproof treatment is completed.

The so-called waterproof treatment of "one layer of insulating tape + three layers of waterproof tape + three layers of UV protection tape" (1 layer 3 layers). The purpose is one layer of insulating tape (to prevent leakage), three layers of waterproof tape (waterproof), and the outermost layer of three layers of anti-ultraviolet tape (to protect waterproof tape, prevent sun aging and lose waterproof effect).

In practical application, most of the ANT interfaces of antennas use the waterproof method of "1-3-3".

When dealing with, first of all, it is necessary to remove dust, oil dirt and other sundries on the cable joint. Then wind one layer of insulating tape, three layers of waterproof tape and three layers of anti-ultraviolet tape in turn. Finally, use black anti-ultraviolet tape to fasten both ends of the tape to prevent it from opening.

In order to achieve the best waterproof effect, the way of winding tape is also very fastidious.

1. Winding a layer of insulating tape:

According to the tightening direction of the joint, a layer of electrical insulation tape is wound on the joint in a semi-overlapping manner from top to bottom, and the upper tape covers the lower layer of the tape.

2. Winding three layers of waterproof tape:

First of all, stretch the waterproof tape evenly. Then, according to the direction of joint tightening, winding three layers from bottom to top, from top to bottom, and from bottom to top, pay attention to the upper layer tape covering the lower layer tape 1 hand 3 to prevent Rain Water leakage. Do not cut off the tape during winding. After the winding is completed, it should be pinched repeatedly with both hands to ensure that the tape and the cable and cable joints are firmly bonded.

3. Winding three layers of anti-UV tape:

The winding direction is the same as the winding waterproof tape. Use natural tension and winding anti-UV tape, pay attention to the upper layer of the tape to cover the lower layer of the tape.

4. Fix the two ends of the tape:

Pay attention to keep the extra tie of 3 mm at the opening to prevent the tape from expanding in high temperature weather.

Waterproof scheme of electrically tuned antenna interface if the antenna equipment uses an electrically tuned antenna, the waterproof treatment method is slightly different. The electrically tuned antenna is generally connected with the AISG interface of the RRU through the RCU electrically tuned antenna controller. On the RRU side, the AISG cable does not need to be waterproof.

On the side of the electrically tuned antenna, different waterproof treatment methods are adopted at both ends of the RCU:

1. The joint where the RCU connects the electrically tuned antenna shall be waterproof in the way of "1-3-3" mentioned above.

2. Winding two layers of anti-ultraviolet tape at the joint of RCU connecting AISG cable. Note that the first layer of anti-UV tape should be wound from top to bottom, and the second layer should be wound from bottom to top. In other words, the tape on the outermost ring must be wound from the bottom to the top to prevent water droplets from penetrating.

Unused interface waterproofing scheme for interfaces not used by RRU, waterproof protection is also required. The protective measure is to wrap the dustproof cover around two layers of anti-ultraviolet tape.

1. Check whether the unused interface has a dust cover.

2. Winding two layers of anti-UV tape. According to the tightening direction of the joint, the first layer should be wound from top to bottom, and the second layer should be wound from the bottom up, which is flush with the bottom of the lid. The edge of the tape is fastened with a strap.
