It marks a qualitative leap from "laboratory" to "engineering application" in the technological innovation of high-temperature gas-cooled reactor, which is the fourth generation of nuclear power technology in China.

CTOnews.com learned that CNNC said that the ball-bed modular high-temperature gas-cooled reactor is the fourth generation of advanced nuclear energy technology independently developed by China and with completely independent intellectual property rights, with the advantages of inherent safety, high power generation efficiency, a wide range of applications, and modular construction. The demonstration project of high temperature gas-cooled reactor nuclear power plant will be put into commercial operation by the end of 2022.
