CTOnews.com, December 18, according to the website of the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, Volvo Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Daqing Volvo Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. recently filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. It is decided to recall a total of 6985 of the following vehicles from now on.

Volvo Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (a total of 2161 imported cars)

A total of 2161 imported XC90 cars of 2022 and 2023 were produced from March 25, 2021 to October 8, 2022.

Daqing Volvo Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (a total of 2308 domestic cars)

A total of 2022 and 2023 S60 vehicles were produced from April 26, 2021 to September 29, 2022, and 1947 S90 long-wheelbase vehicles were produced from April 26, 2021 to October 8, 2022.

Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (a total of 2516 domestic cars)

A total of 2516 XC60 cars of 2022 and 2023 were produced from March 23, 2021 to October 5, 2022.

CTOnews.com learned that some plug-in hybrid vehicles in the scope of this recall may not be able to start the engine due to errors in the software control logic of the engine control module. If a fault occurs, a message will appear in the instrument when the vehicle is started (the drive system needs to be repaired), and the vehicle can be driven in electric mode. When the engine is required to work, the instrument will be warned again but the engine will not start. If the user ignores the warnings and prompts to continue driving, when the vehicle's high-voltage battery runs out, the instrument will prompt "safe stop" and the vehicle will lose its power drive, which is a hidden danger.

Volvo Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Daqing Volvo Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will upgrade the engine control module software for recalled vehicles free of charge through vehicle remote upgrade (OTA) technology. For vehicles that cannot be recalled through remote upgrade (OTA) technology, Volvo authorized dealers will actively contact relevant users to upgrade the software for the vehicle.
