CTOnews.com, December 17 (Xinhua) Dell recently unveiled a new version of the Luna concept notebook, which officials say can be easily removed and replaced with parts such as memory, SSD, keyboard and screen, thereby reducing waste and emissions and reusing materials.

After entering the inside of the notebook, you will find that its components are connected through card slots, so as to achieve rapid replacement and upgrade.

Dell says traditional notebooks use screws, glue and various welding components to connect and may take more than an hour to disassemble when recycled. With Dell's improved Concept Luna design, Dell has reduced the disassembly time to a few minutes. Dell even commissioned a miniature factory to guide Dell's design team to create a robot that can be disassembled quickly and easily.

Dell said that because customers use laptops in different ways, not all components reach their useful life at the same time. The Dell Concept Luna can be quickly replaced after a single component is damaged to optimize the life of the laptop. Some replacement components can also be recycled, refurbished and reused to further reduce e-waste.

Dell Concept Luna is still in the conceptual stage, and Dell says it will move towards this goal.
