Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, December 17 (Xinhua) Tesla's production capacity has increased rapidly since the opening of Berlin super-factory and Texas super-factory, and with the completion of capacity upgrades in California super-factory and Shanghai super-factory, Tesla's current squeeze order volume is rapidly decreasing.

According to analyst Troy Teslike, the backlog of Tesla's global electric vehicle orders has been declining rapidly in recent months, falling to 190000 vehicles as of November 30, 2022. It is said that the number of 190000 units corresponds to about 44 days of production capacity.

He provided very interesting Tesla statistics and forecasts. The backlog of orders has fallen by about 33% compared with 285000 at the end of October, while this figure was close to 400000 at the end of August and close to 500000 between March and July. If the calculation is correct, then this means that Tesla's current production of new cars has significantly exceeded sales in the same period.

Of Tesla's three main markets (the United States, Europe and China), the largest decline was in the United States. By the end of November, Tesla's backlog of orders had fallen by more than 100000 in two months to less than 60000 vehicles. This may also explain why Tesla launched some additional incentives to promote sales in December.

By contrast, Tesla's squeeze orders in China were pushed to a very low level several months ago (the earliest expected delivery time is only 14 days), while Europe is still relatively stable.

In the United States, the uncertainty of the overall economic situation, coupled with the inflation reduction Act (IRA) brought about by high inflation, has significantly affected the $7500 federal tax credit. So Tesla's new car will not be eligible for full subsidy again until 2023, which makes many customers choose to wait until next year to buy a car. The results show that there is currently no backlog of orders for 3/5 of the Model 3 / Y models (according to the report, the expected delivery time is only 7 days).

CTOnews.com learned that in October this year, Tesla released data on car production and delivery in the third quarter of 2022. Data show that Tesla produced 366000 cars and delivered 344000 in the quarter, an increase of more than 100000 compared with 240000 in the same period last year, but still below analysts' expectations.

In the third quarter, Tesla produced a total of 365923 new cars, of which 345988 were Model 3 and Model Y, and 19935 were Model S and ModelX. During the same period, Tesla delivered a total of 343830 new cars, including 325158 for Model 3 and Model Y and 18672 for Model S and ModelX.

In terms of production and delivery, Tesla made great progress in the third quarter. By contrast, Tesla produced 237823 cars in the same period last year and 258580 in the second quarter of this year. At the same time, Tesla delivered 241300 vehicles in the same period last year, 308600 in the fourth quarter of 2021, 310048 in the first quarter of 2022 and 254695 in the second quarter of 2022.
