CTOnews.com, Dec. 17, citing South Korean media The Elec reported that Samsung plans to launch a 17.3-inch foldable laptop in 2023 with a screen size of 13.3 inches in a folding state. The foldable screen, which comes from its own supply chain Samsung display (Samsung Display), will be more competitive than its competitors in terms of price.

The report also pointed out that Samsung had planned to launch a 17.3-inch foldable laptop in 2022, but it was delayed for some reason.

CTOnews.com learned that the report also pointed out that many manufacturers, including Hewlett-Packard, plan to launch foldable notebooks in 2023. Hewlett-Packard's planned 17-inch collapsible screen, provided by LG, will be 11 inches in size after folding. After its launch, this notebook will become a direct competitor to Samsung's collapsible notebook.

Other foldable laptops that have been on shelves in 2022 include the Asustek ZenBook 17 Fold and Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 2. The Asustek ZenBook 17 Fold features a 17-inch BOE screen that folds to 12.6 inches, while the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 2 has a 16.3-inch OLED display that can be folded into a 12-inch device.

However, the prices of these foldable notebooks are very expensive, and consumers will not have much demand for this type of notebook.
