CTOnews.com At 3:01 a.m. Beijing time today, SpaceX conducted another "static ignition" test at its South Texas plant. The ship used for the test was Ship 24, which is about 165 feet (50 meters) tall.

It is worth mentioning that SpaceX also specially gave a video with a very special perspective.

During this test, one of the Ship 24's six Raptor engines was statically ignited for about seven seconds, and the spacecraft remained stationary on the ground.

According to reports, Ship 24 will perform the first orbital test mission of Starship program, SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk said that the program may be carried out in the next few months, and its prototype has passed the static ignition test.

Ship 24 carries Booster 7, a prototype of the Superheavy Falcon 1. CTOnews.com reported that SpaceX started 11 of its 33 Raptor engines on Nov. 29, and another 14-engine static fire test was conducted fifteen days ago.

SpaceX hopes to develop a fully reusable vehicle to send astronauts and cargo to the Moon and Mars and perform various other missions closer to home.

SpaceX already has a number of lunar flight customers, such as NASA's choice of the spacecraft as the first manned lander for its Artemis mission to the moon, and Japanese billionaire Yosaku Maezawa has scheduled a trip around the moon that will also carry a handful of artists and influential people, including "everyday astronaut" Tim Dodd.
