CTOnews.com, December 15, according to the official platform of Unity, Unity China and AMD have been working together to develop a high-quality hair rendering solution since 2010. after two years of efforts, the Unity China HairFX fur system based on AMD TressFX open source high-quality real-time fur rendering framework has finally been launched.

According to the GitHub page of ▲ source Unity China HairFX, Unity China HairFX is a real-time rendering technology based on hair, which can not only achieve a very realistic optics effect, but also make the hair light and wobble with the movement of the character. You can see the specific effect in the video below.

In the process of joint development, Unity China and AMD graphics engineers have also made many improvements and optimizations to TressFX's original physical simulation and rendering effects based on developer feedback, such as focusing on hair elongation, random length interpolation and rendering performance optimization to improve the developer's creative experience in an all-round way.

CTOnews.com learned that the Unity China HairFX fur system supports both the Unity Universal rendering Pipeline (URP) and the Unity HD rendering Pipeline (HDRP) and is compatible with the Unity Editor version 2021 LTS.
