CTOnews.com, December 15, IDC released a report today that China's high-precision map market will be 646 million yuan in 2021, an increase of 36.3% over the same period last year.

IDC said that with the promotion of national policy and the improvement of higher-level autopilot penetration, the application scenarios of high-precision maps, map product forms and business models, map production and data updates have all changed to a certain extent. The product maturity of major technology providers has been further improved, and large-scale applications already have a certain foundation.

CTOnews.com learned that in August this year, the Ministry of Natural Resources issued a notice on doing a good job in the pilot application of intelligent network automobile high-precision maps, and carried out pilot projects of intelligent network connection automobile high-precision map application in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Chongqing.

The report points out that from the application scene of high-precision map, it can be divided into two major areas: autopilot and smart city. In the business model, high-precision maps are gradually turning from the traditional "map + software and services" to "map + compliance". And the integrated solution of "map + algorithm + location + compliance".

In terms of market share, the top five high-precision map solution providers (Baidu, Siwei Tuxin, Amap, Yitutong, Zhonghaiting) currently occupy more than 80% of the market share, with a high degree of market concentration.
