CTOnews.com, December 15 (Xinhua)-- Morgan Stanley, a market analyst, believes that side-loading and third-party alternative app stores have little impact on Apple's overall revenue. Even these measures taken by Apple under the new EU rules may also boost Apple's share price.

CTOnews.com has learned that Apple plans to allow third-party app stores to be side-loaded and run on Apple devices such as iPhone and iPad in 2024 to meet the EU's upcoming digital market law, but it is unclear whether payment systems that will be allowed to replace Apple Pay will be allowed.

In a memo to investors today, Morgan Stanley pointed out that Apple's changes to the app store in Europe will not have a material impact on the company's overall revenue. Even in the worst case, the loss of global revenue in fiscal 2024 was less than 2 per cent.

Morgan Stanley also estimates that even if Apple loses all App Store revenue in the European Union, it will have an impact of 4% on Apple's services revenue in fiscal 2024 and 1% on overall revenue. If Apple allows side loading and replacement of app stores globally, it will have an impact of 9 per cent on Apple's global services revenue in fiscal 2024 and 2 per cent on overall revenue.

These situations are based on the worst-case scenario and the highly unlikely scenario. This will require about 30 per cent of iPhone users to abandon the Apple App Store.

This is considered impossible because of the investigation conducted by Morgan Stanley. Less than 30 per cent of survey participants said they were most likely to buy applications directly from the developer's website rather than from App Store. Even so, users want the price of the application to be reduced by 35%, making the transaction value for money.
