CTOnews.com, December 15 (Xinhua)-- Apple has upgraded the underlying architecture of Apple Home in its iOS 16. 2 update released yesterday, and Apple officials say it can improve HomeKit performance. However, the upgrade process is not smooth, and some HomeKit users reported that they got stuck after the upgrade.

Eligible devices can use the new Apple Home architecture after upgrading iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, macOS Ventura 13.1, watchOS 9.2, or tvOS 16.2. If there are multiple family members in Apple Home, they all need to upgrade to the latest version, otherwise they will not be able to control the smart home product.

Apple officials say the entire upgrade process is very fast, only a few seconds to complete, and then jump out of the "Home Upgrade Complete" upgrade completion reminder. However, some users reported that there were several problems in the upgrade.

CTOnews.com learned that one of the problems with the most feedback from users is that an upgrade that can be completed in a few seconds will get stuck when it is stuck in the "update" state. At present, there is no related repair method. AppleInsider podcast co-host Stephen Robles (Stephen Robles) saw that many of his accessories did not respond after the update. He finally manually re-added any unresponsive products after waiting for the problem to resolve itself for a few hours.

Neil Hughes, a former executive editor of AppleInsider, also reported his setup problems, but it may be much more confusing. One of his user accounts became unresponsive. He finally decided that the only way out was to remove the Home app and reinstall it.
