According to @ China Space News, the first-stage flight of the rocket is normal, the first-and second-stage separation is normal, the fairing separation is normal, the second-stage flight is abnormal, failed to reach the orbit speed (2 km / s lower than the orbital speed), and finally regretted re-entering the atmosphere, and the launch mission was not successful.

"Vermilion Bird II" is China's first liquid oxygen methane carrier rocket, and its thrust level can reach the third in the world and the first in Asia among the same technological products, second only to Space Exploration's "Raptor" and Blue Origin's BE-4.

Since the establishment of the project in September 2017, the "Vermilion Bird II" carrier rocket has completed the research and development of the first batch of rocket technology. According to the news released earlier, the Yaoyi rocket has left the factory and completed low-temperature filling training at the Jiuquan launch site, and is scheduled to be launched in Jiuquan in mid-December. The remote two rocket began its final assembly work at the Jiaxing Blue Arrow Space Center in late November.

The Vermilion Bird-2 telemetry-2 carrier rocket is a two-stage cryogenic liquid carrier rocket with a diameter of 3.35m, a total length of 49.5m, a take-off mass of 219t and a take-off thrust of 268t. The first stage of the rocket uses four "Tianque" 80-ton liquid oxygen methane engines in parallel; the rocket second-stage engine uses a single "Tianque" 80-ton liquid oxygen methane engine and "Tianque" 10-ton swimming liquid oxygen methane engine, and the configuration of the main engine is the same as that of the first-class engine. The rocket stages are separated by cold separation, and the fairing is separated by spinning separation.

In this launch, the flight altitude of the star-arrow combination reached 400 kilometers at the highest altitude. since then, due to the failure to reach the orbit speed, the flight altitude continued to decline, and finally had no choice but to re-enter the atmosphere.

Blue Arrow Aerospace has not issued any statement on the launch yet.

Despite its defeat, Vermilion Bird 2 still became the world's first liquid oxygen methane carrier rocket to achieve orbital flight, and it was also the first liquid rocket launch in China's commercial space flight.
