CTOnews.com, December 14, according to the Sinopec Institute of Stone Science, Sinopec's domestic megawatt proton exchange membrane (PEM) water electrolysis hydrogen production plant was successfully started in Yanshan Petrochemical Company recently, and the whole process was completed on the same day. After testing, the quality of the product is qualified.

Since the Sinopec Institute of Stone Sciences on December 11, the hydrogen output and pressure have reached the design value. This is Sinopec's first set of megawatt proton exchange membrane water electrolysis hydrogen production plant in operation. It was jointly developed and built by Sinopec Institute of Stone Sciences and Yanshan Petrochemical. It applies the most domestic complete set of single-tank megawatt PEM water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment, which achieves zero carbon and zero pollutant emission in the whole production process and opens the way for independent technology "green electricity" to produce "green hydrogen". It marks the industrial application of the complete set of hydrogen production technology of PEM electrolysis in Sinopec.

CTOnews.com learned that the electrolytic cell, as the core equipment of the PEM electrolytic water-to-hydrogen plant, uses self-developed high-performance cathodic and anodic catalysts and large-size uniform membrane electrodes, with a maximum hydrogen production capacity of 250cm / h, a power regulation range of 5% and 125%, a hydrogen production pressure of 3 MPA, and a hydrogen purity of 99.999%. After it is put into production, the annual hydrogen production can reach 200 tons, and the carbon dioxide emission can be reduced by 2000 to 4000 tons.

It is reported that the project uses "green electricity", and the output of "green hydrogen" is mainly sold to Beijing, Hebei, Shandong and other regions. As the largest hydrogen production and supply enterprise in Beijing, Yanshan Petrochemical has been listed on the list of key hydrogen production enterprises in Beijing hydrogen fuel cell urban demonstration group by Fangshan District and Daxing District of Beijing, with a daily hydrogen supply capacity of 4.5 tons.
