This time, ST executives, such as Jean-Marc Chery, Jerome Roux, and the executive vice president of St Semiconductor, have in-depth exchanges with a number of strategic customers from the automotive and industrial fields, including Changan Automobile, Selis Automobile, Ningde Times, Gudwei, Weimax New Energy, Attak Automotive Electronics and so on. Industry and automobile are the two strongest growth markets in the Italian-French semiconductor business portfolio, and focusing on these two high-growth markets is the company's strategic direction in recent years. it is also the key to achieving the company's ambitious goal of more than $20 billion in revenue within three years.

China's efforts to promote the development of electric vehicles are very strong. Data show that by 2021, China's new energy vehicle sales have ranked first in the world for seven consecutive years. At present, China accounts for half of the global sales of electric vehicles, and nearly 1/4 of the new cars in China are electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles, leading the European and American markets. At the same time, the rapid development of new energy vehicles has also led to investment in infrastructure such as fast charging stations and vehicle communication devices.

During the visit to China, senior Italian and French semiconductor executives such as Jean-Marc Chery were invited to visit two representative Chinese car companies-- the fast-growing domestic new energy car brand Cyrus Automobile and China's leading car company Changan Automobile.

Changan Automobile led a tour of the exhibition hall of Changan Automobile Global R & D Center, introducing innovative solutions from traditional oil vehicles and new energy vehicles to engines and transmissions, focusing on key technologies such as the energy-efficient BlueCore engine and advanced electronic and electrical architecture SDA platform. It is reported that Changan Automobile is accelerating the overall transformation to electrification and electrification, and more than 30 new intelligent network products will be launched one after another before 2025, and the number of on-board chips is expected to reach 2.9 billion.

Italian semiconductor executives such as Jean-Marc Chery were also invited to test-drive several of the latest smart electric cars with cutting-edge technology from Cyrus and Changan.

Over the years, Italian and French semiconductor strategies and investments have been focused on smart travel, power and energy management, the Internet of things and the Internet. Taking the third generation semiconductor silicon carbide (SiC) technology as an example, it has remarkable characteristics, such as increasing the mileage of electric vehicles, shortening the charging time, improving the energy efficiency and performance of industrial power sources and motors, reducing system size and total cost of ownership. At present, there are about 100 SiC automotive and industrial cooperation projects under way in Italy and France, accounting for more than 40% of the global market and carrying more than 3 million mass-produced passenger cars.
