Akasa's radiator is compatible with the standard M.2 2280 SSD and is painted all black. It consists of a steel bracket and an aluminum radiator with a 50 x 50 x 15 mm turbofan fixed to the top. With a noise level of 29dB at 3000 RPM, this fan delivers a maximum airflow of 3.98 CFM and a maximum wind pressure of 8.2 mm-H2O.

Officials say the SSD cooler is 72.53 mm high and weighs 120 grams. In terms of thermal performance, SSD with Gecko cooler has a 58% temperature reduction compared to the non-thermal version.

Akasa Gecko radiator pricing and time to market has not been announced.

CTOnews.com understands that PCIe 5.0 SSDs that require such powerful heat sinks were originally scheduled to be available in November, but there are no consumer models available for production. Vendors are expected to officially announce PCIe 5.0 SSD products at CES next month.
