CTOnews.com, December 14 (Xinhua)-- Berkshire Hathaway, owned by Warren Buffett, sold 132.95 million shares of BYD H shares on December 8, 2022, at an average price of HK $201.3432, according to Hong Kong Stock Exchange filings. On this basis, Buffett cashed out about HK $268 million this time.

After the reduction, Buffett reduced the proportion of BYD H shares from 15.07% to 14.95%, and still holds 164.093 million shares. It is worth mentioning that this is Buffett's sixth reduction of BYD in 2022, and Buffett has cashed out more than HK $3 billion from BYD during the year.

Buffett signed an agreement with BYD in September 2008 to subscribe for 225 million BYD shares at a price of HK $8 per share, for a total amount of about HK $1.8 billion. Buffett has been holding a heavy stake in BYD for more than 10 years. But since 2022, Buffett has changed his normal situation and continued to reduce his stake in BYD. since the first reduction, Buffett has never revealed to the media the reasons for reducing his stake in BYD.

CTOnews.com learned that while reducing his stake in BYD, Buffett bought TSMC, a semiconductor company for the first time in the third quarter, and significantly increased his holdings in the Japanese market in late November, including Itochu, Marubeni, Mitsubishi, Mitsui and Sumitomo, all by more than 1 per cent.
