CTOnews.com, December 14, Xcode 14.2 (14C18), Apple's latest code development tool, was released today. Developers can go to Apple's website to download and view the update log.

CTOnews.com learned from the Xcode 14.2 update log that version 5.7 of Swift was introduced in the new version and that a number of software development kits were updated. The new version supports debugging on iOS 11 or later, tvOS 11 or later, and watchOS 4 or later devices.

This update also fixes a preview-related problem, that is, when two files are viewed side by side, they may fall into the Xcode canvas. A known problem with this version is that localized strings from AppIntent may not display correctly in shortcut or focus filter settings if the application is not in the application folder. The current workaround is to move the application to this folder and restart the settings or shortcuts.
