CTOnews.com, December 14 (Xinhua)-- the third-party file manager Files App won the best file management application award in Microsoft Store Award last month and began migrating from UWP to a more modern Windows App SDK. In the 2.4 update released today, the app has been released from the "Preview" tab and is available for download.

This update introduces a lot of improvements, and introduces Win11-style rounded corners and other layouts. CTOnews.com learned that the update log for version 2.4 is as follows:

Added support to change the default layout mode

Added support for changing default sorting and grouping options

Tooltips for storing information have been added when hovering over disk

A button to extract the file has been added to the toolbar when viewing the file

Fixed an issue where the default file manager option would affect other user accounts

Fixed blurred sidebar icon

Added menu option to compress items into compressed documents

Show the most recent search when clicking on the search box

Displays an error message when the shortcut key target is not found

Added the option to set the default column size in the detail layout

Fixed an issue where right-click does not always choose to hover over files / folders

The option to automatically select a folder in the add Project dialog box

Added settings for selecting files and folders when hovering over the mouse

Updated the list view / grid view style on Windows 10

Displays a prompt when the user does not have permission to access the folder

Added support for creating and extracting password-protected files
