CTOnews.com, December 13 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- US operator Comcast has announced that it has completed the world's first real-time, multi-gigabit symmetrical Internet connection supported by 10Gbps 10 Gigabit Broadband and full-duplex DOCSIS 4.0.

Comcast connects a location in the Philadelphia area to its field network, including a 10G node that supports DOCSIS 4.0and multiple cable modems. Comcast engineers have tested the symmetrical speed of broadband and will continue to experiment with 10G technology in the coming months in preparation for providing 10G services to customers in the second half of 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that Comcast achieved a 4000 milestone in laboratory testing in early 2022, with the support of 10G network technology, exceeding the upload and download speed of 4Gbps.

According to reports, 10G 10 Gigabit technology will provide multi-gigabit symmetrical services through broadband already installed in hundreds of millions of homes around the world, without the need to install new broadband.

Comcast said it aims to reach more than 5000 million homes and businesses with 10 Gigabit broadband by the end of 2025, achieving the largest and fastest multi-gigabit deployment in U.S. History.
