According to reports, Guangdong Telecom opened its first 5G base station in Lianzhang Village in October 2019, and the village has since become the country's first "Yunshang village" covered by 5G.

On the basis of the previous 3.5GHz, 2.1GHz, 1.8GHz and other frequency coverage, according to the measured situation, after the opening of low-frequency base stations, the 5G coverage level of Lianzhang Village is 1.5 times higher than before.

CTOnews.com learned that Guangdong Province has built more than 210,000 5G base stations, ranking first in the country.

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, by the end of October, the total number of 5G base stations in China had reached 2.25 million, accounting for 20.9% of the total number of mobile base stations; the number of 5G base stations in eastern, central, western and northeast regions reached 1.081 million, 482000, 547000 and 140000 respectively, accounting for 23.1%, 20.4%, 18.1% and 19.7% of the total number of mobile phone base stations in this region, respectively.

CTOnews.com learned that by the end of October, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecom companies had reached 1.682 billion. Among them, 5G mobile phone users reached 524 million, accounting for 31.1% of mobile phone users.
