CTOnews.com, December 13, Taiwan's Economic Daily reported that Citigroup said in its research report that the management of Hon Hai, the parent company of Foxconn, held a number of investor meetings in the United States from December 5 to 8. According to the information disclosed at the meeting, with the adjustment of epidemic prevention policy in Zhengzhou, Hon Hai aims to resume normal production of iPhone in December.

Citigroup said Hon Hai's profits in the fourth quarter of this year were likely to be affected by higher costs, which management expected to recover gradually after consultation with customers.

Citigroup points out that demand for the high-end smartphone iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max remains strong, with no order adjustment; shipments may be delayed to the first quarter of next year, as production is clearly unable to fully meet demand for the fourth quarter of 2022.

CTOnews.com learned that earlier this month, Guo Mingyi, an analyst at Tianfeng International Securities, said that the production gap of the Zhengzhou plant was more than 12 million units, and the production capacity of Guannan (Guanlan plant in Shenzhen) had increased since November to make up for the production capacity of the Zhengzhou plant. He pointed out that the number of employees at the Zhengzhou plant has now reached 40% to 50% of the full capacity period, and the capacity has been gradually repaired, and the overall capacity utilization rate of the Zhengzhou plant is expected to double to about 60% in December.
