Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, December 13, ComputerBase has found some information about the next generation of Meteor Lake-S desktop processors in the Intel code.

According to reports, the 14-generation Core CPU will be based on the latest LGA 1851 slot and has verified the support of the new generation of processors for LPDDR5X-7500 memory.

It is worth mentioning that the size of the new LGA 1851 slot is exactly the same as that of the LGA-1700, except that the IHS of the new socket is higher than before, which ensures that Intel's new multi-tile technology has enough room to play, and another reason may be to avoid previous problems, such as the deformation and overheating of Intel's Alder Lake.

Combined with the previously announced PPT roadmap, Intel Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake desktop processors will be compatible with LGA 1851 sockets. In addition, based on the information listed, we can conclude that the 14-generation Core processor will support up to LPDDR5X-7500 memory, while the high-end Arrow Lake CPU is expected to support LPDDR5X-8400 specifications and ECC DDR5 UDIMM and SO-DIMM models.

It can be seen from the known information that the specification of Intel's 14-generation Meteor Lake-S series desktop CPU has been weakened compared with the previous generation, which will at least reduce the number of P cores, but there must be a substantial increase in performance thanks to new technology, new architecture, and brand-new small chip technology.

The Meteor Lake-S lineup shown in the leak chart includes five different models, of which the top processor is a combination of 6 P cores and 16 E cores, providing 22 cores and 28 threads.

In addition, P-Cores on Meteor Lake CPU is based on the new Redwood Cove architecture, while E-Cores will be designed with Crestmont, both of which will lead to new improvements and upgrades.

It should be noted that the maximum limit of the 14-generation Meteor Lake CPU is i7, the higher i9 seems to be available only in the Arrow Lake series, and due to the new foundry strategy, Meteor Lake will integrate Intel 4 (CPU) + TSMC N5 (tGPU) + TSMC N6 (SoC) processes, which are expected to be optimized in terms of cost.

CTOnews.com learned that the list of Meteor Lake-S exposed so far includes:

22 (6p + 16e) / 4 Xe kernel / 125W TDP

22 (6p + 16e) / 4 Xe kernel / 65W TDP

22 (6p + 16e) / 4 Xe kernel / 35W TDP

14 (6p + 8e) / 4 Xe kernel / 65W TDP
