CTOnews.com, December 12, according to Businesskorea, on December 9, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger met with Kyung Kye-hyun, president of Samsung Electronic device Solutions (DS) division and Kim Woo-joon, president of device experience (DX) network business, to discuss cooperation in the semiconductor field.

Tuyuan PexelsCTOnews.com learned that after arriving in South Korea from Taiwan, Gelsinger visited Samsung Electronics' Huacheng and Suwon Park to meet with Samsung executives, including Kyung and Kim. They talked about how to get through the global economic downturn. Samsung and Intel are the top companies in the global semiconductor industry because they are the number one players in memory semiconductors and central processing units (CPU), respectively, and they compete and cooperate in the global semiconductor market.

This is Gelsinger's second visit to South Korea this year after his first visit to South Korea in May. During a visit to South Korea in May, the Intel chief executive met with Samsung chairman Lee Jae-yong to discuss co-operation on next-generation memory, system semiconductors, contract manufacturing, personal computers and mobile devices. However, Mr Lee did not meet with Gelsinger this time because he returned from a business trip to the United Arab Emirates that day.
